  3. Version 1.3 of AutoScribe has again been reworked to accomondate a lot
  4. of user requests. If your request was not honored in this release please
  5. leave me a message on the support bbs. (I will answer all requests there,
  6. please do not be offended if your suggestion did not/does not make it into
  7. the AS program. There are just TO MANY to accomondate this quickely!)

  9. If you have any doubts as to how to add these changes I suggest strongly
  10. that you start from scratch and go through the documentation file. This
  11. will assure your not "skipping" around. (There were also changes in 1.2,
  12. if you have not installed those changes then please read the AS.DOC file)

  14. CHANGES TO AS.CNF (Version 1.3)

  16.   LINE 11
  17.  
  18.      ADDED new switch to line 11. if you prefer to have the question
  19.      "Is this a new subscription?" asked then place ASK on this line.
  20.  
  21.       If it is a new subscription then todays date will be used to 
  22.       calculate the new expire date. If it is not a new subscription
  23.       then the expiredate will be used to do the calculation. For other
  24.       options see the AS.DOC file.

  29.      NO =         No one gets charged for tax
  30.      ALL =        All users get charged for tax
  31.      STATE CODE = Enter the TWO (2) letter code here of the state that is

  38. The command line structure has now been changed. The new command line should
  39. be as follows:

  51. The main change is that the config file must now be the first parameter after
  52. the exe file name. if you prefer you may use the PCBoard %SET% variables to
  53. call the door. ex. (You may now name the config file to any name you wish)

  60. Other Items -

  62. Added capability for AutoScribe to distinquish between nodes when displaying
  63. the INVOICE.txt file to the user. This file is now name INV_xx.TXT where
  64. xx is the node number. The INV_xx.TXT file is now deleted prior to the user
  65. leaving the door.

  67. Changed the entry prompts to reflect international type prompts. ie. 
  68. City/Village vice City etc.

  70. If you define a GOODBYE/LOGOFF file, there is now a "press enter to continue"
  71. message displayed. This stops the message from "scrolling" off the screen.

  73. Reconstructed the xx.INV file (sysops copy). This was done in anticipation
  74. of entering items into a database file in a simple format, and *maybe*
  75. someday doing online processing of this file. The format is listed in the
  76. AS.DOC file.

  79. are about to purchase.

  88. Version 1.2 of AutoScribe has been reworked so you can either use
  89. AutoScribes default screens and procedures or create your own!

  91. There are several changes to the config file format (Please read the
  92. docs to ensure you have everything correct if this is your first 
  93. setup.

  95. Below are the lines added to AS configuration file, one listing what 
  96. is entered on the new lines if you desire the defaults and one example 
  97. of what could be entered to customize your version of Autoscribe.

  108. Line 11      Line 11 decides whether you want the door to use the
  109.              expiration date in the users file to upgrade the users
  110.              new expire date from or to use todays date. If a "Y" is
  111.              on line 11 then AutoScribe will use the Expiration Date
  112.              found in the Users file to upgrade from. If a "N" is found
  113.              it will use todays date to do the calculation.

  115. Line 12 -    Line 12 will have a "Y" if you want AutoScribe to use the
  116. Warning      default warning screen built into AS. If you want to build
  117. Screen       your own then you must place the correct path and file name
  118.              on the line. If you want a graphic version of the warning
  119.              file then create an ANSI file and append a "G" to the name.
  120.  
  121.              Ex. WARN  is the name of the example warning file (Non Graphic)
  122.                  WARNG is the name of the graphic warning file

  125. Line 13 -    Line 13 will have a "N" if you do not desire to have a logoff
  126. LogOff       file displayed to the user. If you decide to show the user a
  127. Display      logoff file then the correct path and name of the file should
  128.              be included here. The nameing convention for graphic files 
  129.              follows the example above for the warning file. (This could be
  130.              a thank you file, extra information file etc.)

  132. Line 14 -    File Descriptions. If you would like to show the user a more
  133. Menu         detailed listing of your subscription levels, you should 
  134. System       create a file which describes your levels and place it on
  135.              line 14. (SUBDAT is an example). If there is a filename listed
  136.              on this line, then a menu will be presented to the user. 
  137.              The menu has 3 options. 1) View Subscriptions, 2) Subscribe to
  138.              BBS, 3) Return to main board.
  139.  
  140.              If you desire that AutoScribe take its normal course of 
  141.              operation and show the listing in short form then place a
  142.              "N" on this line and there will be no menu system used.

  144.              The nameing convention for graphic files is the same as
  145.              used above. Append a "G" to the graphic version.

  148. *NOTE*       All filenames must only be 8 characters in length, Including 
  149.              the appended "G".
